A plant genus belonging to the Malvaceae family, which includes between six and twelve species, most of which grow in the Arab world. Most of its plants are perennials, and some are annuals.
It was named thus because it is the last flower of spring.
Khatmiyya or Khubeiza has many names that differ from one country to another: rose of beauty, meadow fat, wild mallow, rose of harlots, pink marshmallow, marshmallow, khatmiyya, asool, camel mallow.
Khatmiah or Khubeiza is also considered one of the ornamental house plants with a beautiful appearance and a long flowering season. In our country, it appears in different colors, although the predominant color is pink for the wild plant. As for the domesticated varieties that are used as an ornamental plant in public gardens and roads, they have a variety of colors: white, purple, lilac, and burgundy.
It propagates by planting its seeds during the winter. It is a plant that loves moisture and sunlight, and therefore it blooms in our country in the late spring.
It is also widely used in the Levant as part of the famous so-called flower tea.
